Friends of Buckland Church Inc (FOBC) is an incorporated community organisation, formed to acquire the historic St John the Baptist Church from the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania. After a concerted effort of organisation and fundraising, we achieved our goal and in December 2022, purchased the church. FOBC is now responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the church, grounds and graveyards. The plan to revitalise the historic building into a community space for all to use and enjoy is well underway, and already a number of well-attended events have taken place at the church. Fundraising continues in order to fully repair, restore and maintain both church and grounds.
